A couple of images I worked on in my mentorship with Brian Matyas where I chose my project to continue on the story of Boba Fett.
The obvious challenge was to make him different from Din Djarin, but maintain my love of the wandering lone wolf gunfighter in westerns.
I wanted Boba to return with almost nothing -- no more nifty gadgets and equipment like the jetpack that he relied on so much. He would have to learn how to survive all over again, and it would be something of a crucible for him where he could emerge ... a little wiser? I really enjoyed the old western lone wolf gunman like Blondie and really wanted to bring more of that into Boba's character again.
Boba would barely survive the Sarlacc, to be patched up by a kind samaritan (Fennec is that you?!). With the power vacuum Jabba left behind, there would be turbulent times on Tatooine and Boba would become a target by Jabba's rivals.
After surviving by the skin of his teeth, he would eventually go back to Coruscant -- only to hear that someone had unearthed Mace Windu's lightsaber. I thought it would be interesting for Boba to have a weird obsession with the weapon that killed Jango. Maybe he wanted to take it into his possession, as a kind of finger to the dead(?) Mace ... like, your prized weapon is now mine. I don't know, I just thought it would make for a fun story where Boba has to tear through the Coruscant underworld in search of this old lightsaber with just a trusty blaster and his wits.
And no, Boba isn't force sensitive. I always liked that part about Boba best -- that he had no powers but was just incredibly skilled to take down force users.
